Jake Pitts (he/him) uses his expertise in social sciences to design and implement DEI strategies for equitable and inclusive impacts on the workplace, marketplace, and community. As the Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion Officer of University Health (UH) Lakewood Medical Center, Jake has integrated DEI strategies into UH’s operations to further the organization’s goals on recruiting, retention, workplace satisfaction, organizational development, and patient outcomes. Jake’s efforts have contributed to UH being recognized as a Leader on the Human Rights Campaign’s Healthcare Equality Index for 5 consecutive years, 1st in Missouri and 8th nationally on the Lown Institute Hospital Index’s racial inclusivity index, and 12th on Forbes Magazine’s most diverse healthcare employers.

Jake has a graduate degree in social work from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, an undergraduate in social work from Kansas State University, and certifications in Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion from the University of South Florida and Cornell University. As a board member of the Rosedale Development Association, Jake exercises his passion to see Kansas City and its residents thrive. Most importantly, Jake is a husband and a father.
