Christian Basi has served as director of the media relations office at the University of Missouri since 2017. He has been with the News Bureau his entire professional career, beginning as a research writer with the News Bureau in May 1995. Basi has a bachelor’s degree in journalism (1995) and a masters in higher education administration (2005) from MU. As director, he serves as the main university spokesperson and is responsible for the promotion and strategic communications of the university to the local, state and national media. He assists the vice chancellor for Strategic Communications with issues management and strategic communications. Prior to joining the News Bureau, Basi interned with local, regional and national newspapers, including the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
