
KC Rising Initiative Shifts from R&D to Implementation and Evaluation
KC Rising, sponsored by the Civic Council of Greater Kansas City, KCADC and MARC, has focused on three main goals to grow KC: quality jobs, gross metropolitan product, and median household Income. One of several initiatives launched is the KC Rise Fund, a KC-area focused venture capital fund designed to help leverage investment in local entrepreneurs. The Fund will invest as much as $1 for every $5 that a venture capital fund invests in a KC startup. The initiative is co-chaired by Ron LeMay, Darcy Howe, and Davyeon Ross. Learn More >

At Children’s Mercy, a Sharper Focus on Research; Institute’s New Leader Arrives
Children’s Mercy Hospital has hired Dr. Tom Curran, a neuroscientist from Scotland, to help promote the Children’s Research Institute. Dr. Curran plans to align the Institute with new sources of funding and provide continual support for the many Children’s Mercy researchers dedicated to improving children’s health. Learn More >
