One Health Day: Biosensors and the Future Impact
11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. | Nov. 19, 2020
One Health Day provides an opportunity for experts and the community to unite and bring awareness about One Health in action. This year’s topic on biosensors will inform attendees about their uses in measuring biological, chemical and physical signs of health. The research and development of biosensors is becoming the most extensively studied discipline because they are:
- Easy to use
- Fast
- Low-cost
- Highly sensitive
- Exceedingly selective
Biosensors contribute to advances in next-generation medicines such as individualized medicine and ultrasensitive point-of-care detection of markers for diseases.
The goal of this event has always been to bring attendees from human health, animal health, and environmental health backgrounds together to educate and collaborate in a safe environment. Due to COVID-19, the 2020 Kansas City One Health Day will be held virtually. Although disappointed that we cannot connect in person, we value this opportunity to expand our network and bring people together from around the world.
Kansas City One Health Day is brought to you by: Kansas State University, BioNexus KC, KU Edwards Campus and Frontiers: University of Kansas Clinical and Translational Science Institute.
Admission is $10 and will support student awards.
