KU Hospital Kicks Off Construction of $280M Patient Tower
The University of Kansas Hospital conducted groundbreaking ceremonies Monday to kick-off construction of the new $280 million Cambridge North Patient Tower at 39th and Cambridge streets. Cerner Lands Big Hospital Contract in Australia
Cerner Corp., which recently completed its acquisition of Siemens Health Services, just won its first big contract since the sale was completed. The North Kansas City company (Nasdaq: CERN) won a 10-year contract to provide a medication management system to hospitals in New South Wales, Australia, KCUR reports. Cerner said earlier reports placing the value of the contract at $170 million were incorrect, and that the value of the contract was not disclosed. Learn more »
KU Med, KCUMB, UMKC Team Up for Medical Research Consortium
The Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, the University of Missouri-Kansas City and the University of Kansas Medical Center announced the development of a research consortium focused on musculoskeletal disorders and diseases.
“The consortium builds upon the individual strengths of each institution in basic and clinical research to truly improve the health of the communities we serve,” Jeffrey Joyce, vice president for research at KCUMB, said in a release. “It leverages the investments and resources of each institution to maximize the impact on translational research in musculoskeletal diseases.” Learn more »
