As Chairman and CEO of Labconco, Laura McConnell helps lead the strategic vision and day to day operations of Labconco, providing oversight of the business and working directly with the executive team.

Laura joined Labconco Board of Directors in March 2016 and assumed the role of Vice Chairman in July 2019 and became Chairman and CEO in July 2020. Prior to Labconco she spent 5 years with E&I Cooperative as the Vice President of Research and Academic Healthcare and 15+ years with VWR International, and Avantor Company, holding various sales and managerial positions. Laura also served as the Head of Contracting and Procurement for The Stowers Institute for Medical Research, and as Strategic Relationship Director for Thermo Fisher Scientific, Life Technologies.

Laura serves on the Board of Directors for MRIGlobal Board of Trustees, Commerce Bank Kansas City Advisory Council, Kansas City Civic Council, BioNexus KC, and Denison University Board of Advisors.

Laura has 2 boys, Spencer (University of Indiana, ‘25) and Ben (Denison University, ‘27). Both boys are student athletes including Spencer as a cyclist at IU and Ben, Varsity Football, Denison. Laura enjoys yoga, cooking, and traveling. More than anything, she enjoys spending time with her family and close friends.

Laura is a graduate of Denison University where she received a B.A. with a double major in Biology and Dance.
