Dionne Carter is the Associate Chief Health Equity Officer for University Health and will also lead Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts for the Physicians. In her ACHE Officer role, she will partner with UH administrative and clinical leaders to create and implement a comprehensive Health Equity strategy for the institution. Additionally, Mrs. Carter will collaborate with physician administrative leaders on their Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts drawing upon her years of experience in Talent Acquisition, Onboarding, Training, and Workforce Planning. Mrs. Carter’s passion and professional vocation is foster an environment of inclusion where all people have the opportunity to thrive!
Formerly the Diversity Recruitment Officer for University Health, Mrs. Carter has over 20 years of expertise as a DEI and Health Equity practitioner in healthcare. Mrs. Carter has served in leadership roles at Lee Health in Southwest Florida, Vanderbilt University & Medical Center, and Global Benefits Group specializing in cultural competency from an international perspective. Mrs. Carter’s community involvement and Advisory Board participation includes service as a Housing Authority Commissioner, Meals on Wheels, Kansas City Fire Department, Health Forward Foundation, and BioNexus DEI Committee member among various other organizations.
Dionne is married to her best friend Wayne and they have two sons Ryan and Wayne JR; they look forward to soon being empty-nesters!
