Aggressive growth goals and a desire to change the face of the animal health industry are driving expansion at Ceva Animal Health.
Ceva believes world health requires a new approach which goes beyond animal health. The company’s mission is built upon three main efforts:
- Help to feed a growing population
- Combat zoonoses
- Promote the benefits of the human and animal bond.
To have an impact in these areas, the company collaborates with leaders in both human and animal health.
“We’re different than other animal health companies. Our people come to work every day with the desire to do things different, and better, than anyone else in the industry,” said Craig Wallace CEO and North American Zone Director. “The right people, partners and products are coming together at the right time to fulfill Ceva’s vision of ‘going beyond animal health’.”
Ceva entered the U.S. market in 2005 with the acquisition of Biomune Company, a poultry vaccine manufacturer in Lenexa. Besides the expansion of vaccine production, acquisitions have fueled growth in the companion animal market.
That trend will continue during 2014.
“Ceva’s goal is to be a top five global animal health company by the year 2020. Our success in the U.S. will be a key driver to achieving that goal,’ said Wallace.
Late in 2013, Ceva finalized the acquisition of Sogeval Laboratories, allowing the company to expand into areas such as dermatology, joint health and nutritional supplements for companion animals.
“Sogeval is known for high quality products in categories that have a great deal of consumer interest and growth potential. Our portfolios are a natural fit and we have expertise being shared, making our company stronger going forward,” said Wallace.
Ceva continues to place an emphasis on vaccine development and production. During 2013, the company opened a new research and development facility. Construction is already underway expanding vaccine production capabilities, with a similar project planned to begin before year end.
“Globally, Ceva is a top producer of poultry vaccines. We’re on track to be number one in the U.S. very soon. Our sales force has been honored as the best in the industry at delivering value to our customers. They deserve much of the credit for our current and future success,” said Wallace.
The company will be branching out this year as well. This summer the company will launch an equine business unit and swine will follow at the end of the year.
But work at Ceva isn’t just about growth and profits. The company is also invested in embracing a culture built upon entrepreneurial spirit, teamwork, and a focus on innovation.
